As a young boy, Lloyd was in the magazine section of the Farm Fresh in his hometown of Goldsboro, NC. On the stands, he saw something that he had never seen before. He picked up and began reading the pages of Lobo #3 by Keith Giffen and Alan Grant, drawn by Simon Bisley. At 8 years old Lloyd knew 2 things in that moment: 1. He was definitely too young to be reading this amount of violence and he should totally put it away before his Mom finds it. 2. He realized what he wanted to be in this life: a comic book artist. From that point on, every major decision impacting his life was made with his ultimate goal of making comics.

Fast forward to his senior year in college. Lloyd was prepped and ready to finish out his college career and enter the US Army Reserves to help fund his vision of making it as a comic book artist and in a flash, one fateful Tuesday morning, everything changed. 9-11 happened and the Reserves was no longer an option and the world would never be the same. Welcome to the Big Red 1.

Two combat tours to Iraq later, peppered with a season of playing on the US Army All-Army Basketball Team, Lloyd returned to the US in 2008 to begin again. Civilian life offered him a prolific fitness career to help fund his dreams and in 2011, the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art offered him the path into the industry we love and adore. Upon graduation in 2014, Lloyd was immediately hired by the Kubert School as the Events Coordinator where he traveled the world of comic book conventions to represent the school. In 2017, Lloyd self published his first book "Redoubtables Volume 1: Heroes From My Childhood"; which began as a Black History Month art challenge and grew into autobiographical introspection through the lens of some of history's most notable African American icons. In February 2021, Lloyd founded Wall Space HQC where he has curated his original art. He is currently working on "Redoubtables Volume 2: Somethin' About the 70's", a collection of pop culture icons that inspired the comic stories of today as well as bringing to life the biblical story of Samson from the Book of Judges.

By day, Lloyd is on the front lines of training the next generation of comic book artists, by night, he is becoming just that.
