2020 MO TOWN Tom Palmer.jpg

Fresh out of an early departure from art school, Tom Palmer began his career in comic books on Marvel’s Doctor Strange, and has gone on to lend his inimitable embellishing talents to virtually all of the company’s top titles as an artist, inker, colorist and painter. He has been part of many of comics’ legendary dream teams: his work with Neal Adams on X-Men Comics is considered to be one of the definitive runs in the franchise’s history, he teamed with John Buscema on a lengthy record-breaking run on The Avengers and his pairing with Gene Colan on Tomb Of Dracula and DAREDEVIL influenced a whole generation of artists.
Tom has also had well-remembered turns as an inker and finisher on X-Men: The Hidden Years, Nightstalkers, Marvel’s 1980s Star Wars series (where he also pencilled and colored several issues and painted many striking covers), Marc Spector: Moon Knight, Punisher: Born and the X-Men spin-off limited series Magic. His more recent credits at Marvel include Incredible Hulk, Immortal Iron Fist, Punisher, Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Eternals, Heroes For Hire, Wolverine and Ghost Rider. He has also illustrated the comic book adaptations of the films Jaws 2 and 2010 and the novels The Man in the Iron Mask and The Three Musketeers. He joined Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.. on their creator-owned blockbuster series Kick-Ass, where his work can be seen on both the printed page and on the screen in the film's animated sequence.
In addition to his work in comics, Tom has also had a successful career in the advertising field, where he has painted and illustrated ad campaigns for a variety of clients including Hertz, American Cyanamid, Winsor & Newton and Panasonic.
Today, Tom continues to lend his talent to the pencil lines of the comic industry’s greatest artists for a variety of different publishers including DC Comics, Valiant and IDW Publishing. His official website, www.tompalmerillustration.com, is updated daily with new pieces of art from throughout his career.
